At Malmesbury we know that children learn best when school and home work in partnership together. We provide learning for children to do at home in the following areas:
We use Mathletics from Reception to Year 6. All children have a username and password to log in to learning which is at an appropriate level for them.
All children take reading books home every night. All children are set phonics or spelling homework each week on a Friday to be returned the following Wednesday.
We introduced Home Learning Projects for the foundation curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2. The children are set a project to complete at home after half a term. The projects are linked to the topic the children are studying (eg. London landmarks, Shakespeare etc.) and give the children a chance to explore their own areas of interest and record it in any way they choose such as models, leaflets, powerpoint presentations or posters. Key Stage 1 complete one home learning project per term, whilst Key Stage 2 children complete one every half term.
All children are expected to complete their home learning for Maths, English and the Foundation Curriculum.
